Privacy

PurpleImp.IT is part of Purple Imp, based in Dundee. This page covers the two things on this site that handle information: the contact form and the free security check.

The contact form

When you send the form we keep your name, email address, business name and phone number if you give them, what you need help with, and your message. We use them only to reply to you and to deal with what you asked about. We don't add you to a mailing list and we don't share your details with anyone.

The message is stored on our own server in the UK and emailed to us through Postmark, which delivers our email. We also keep a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, to deal with spam. We can't turn the hash back into an IP address.

We keep enquiries for as long as we're talking to you, and delete them within two years of the last contact unless you become a client.

The free security check

The check looks only at public information about the domain you type in: DNS records, the website's certificate and response headers, and the email authentication records. It doesn't need your name or email address. We log the domain checked, the time, and a shortened hash of your IP address, to stop the tool being abused, and we delete those logs after 14 days.

Cookies

This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers. Our CDN, bunny.net, and its firewall process your IP address to deliver the pages and block attacks.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Email hello@purpleimp.it. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
